Ryan Jenkins, who had recently become famous by appearing on the reality show "Megan Wants A Millionaire," was wanted by Buena Park Police after they had identified the mutilated body of his missing wife as the Jane Doe discovered on Saturday morning, August 15. The body had been found naked and folded into a suitcase and left in a dumpster in a small city just a few miles south of Los Angeles, where Jenkins and Fiore lived. Buena Park made a positive identification from the breast implants of the former swimsuit model on Tuesday and Ryan Jenkins, who had not been seen since reporting Jasmine Fiore missing Saturday evening, was deemed a "person of interest." Further investigation and Ryan Jenkins' continued reluctance to come in for questioning heightened interest in his potential involvement in his wife's death. A surveillance tape taken from the hotel he and his wife had stayed in on a recent trip to San Diego -- they had gone to attend a poker party -- revealed that the two had checked in but only Ryan Jenkins had left without checking out early Friday morning, August 10. Jasmine Fiore had only been married to Ryan Jenkins since March. After leaving the reality show "Megan Wants A Millionaire," Ryan Jenkins had gone to Las Vegas, where he met the former swimsuit model and Playboy rep at a Hawaiian Tropic event. They were married two days later.

The relationship had been a fast-lane affair, parties and good times, interspersed with bouts of jealousy on Ryan Jenkins part, including one act of violence, where Jenkins assaulted his wife just a month after their marriage. Jenkins had then filmed another reality TV show, "I Love Money," in Mexico, coming back a winner. Jasmine Fiore was talking of leaving him. In fact, several text messages passed between Jasmine Fiore and Robert Hasman, an ex-boyfriend, up until Friday morning, then suddenly stopped. It is known that Jenkins had read a previous text message from Hasman to Fiore and he had become extremely angry. It is believed that the text messages and the plans to go to Las Vegas that weekend may have sent Ryan Jenkins into a killing rage, because it is just hours later that the surveillance camera picked up Jenkins leaving the hotel, seemingly alone.

So what actually happened? Why did Ryan Alexander Jenkins kill himself? Was he so filled with remorse and full of self-recrimination that he felt it necessary to take his own life? Or did he simply make a cold calculation -- like severing the fingers and pulling the teeth of his wife to slow or deny her identification -- that he would soon be caught and would quite possibly be sent to prison for the rest of life? Did he simply not want to face what would most certainly be a circus of a trial (for certainly he had seen himself and the coverage of the investigation on television)? Or did he want to save his family the horror of a trial? How much of his decision to commit suicide was to save himself the embarrassment and interminable days of lifetime spent behind bars?

The public may never know the exact details of the last hours of Jasmine Fiore's life. Likewise, the last few days of Ryan Jenkins' life may never be known -- what he did, where he went, what he was thinking. There are so many details in a murder investigation. And with the prime suspect removed, authorities will attempt to piece together the bits and pieces of clues they have but may never assemble the entire picture. Like what sparked the alleged strangulation of his wife. What led to decisions to his alleged mutilation of his wife's once beautiful swimsuit model body and his alleged attempts to hide the crime. What drove him to head for Canada.

Unless Ryan Alexander Jenkins left a suicide note. Then there might be something that shines some light on the murder of which Jenkins was accused. Little is known at present about the state in which his body was found, only that he was found dead hanging in a motel room by motel staff, who notified authorities of the death.

But there is some consolation to be had in the death of this man who allegedly murdered his wife, Jasmine Fiore -- he will hurt no one else.
