If you are a big beautiful girl, who wants a career as a plus size model, here are some helpful tips to get you started. Modeling is a very big industry, with agencies located all over the world. An agencies main job is to find you work.
They only make money when you make money.The height they are looking for is between 5'7 and 6'0. If a model is shorter than 5'7, you might think about looking into petite plus size modeling. 10, 12, 14, 16 Sizes 8 and 18/20 are common sizes for plus size models.
1. Call agencies in your area and ask specifically if they handle plus size models. Make appointments with the agencies you are interested in working for. Remember your grandmothers advice-Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
2. Bring along a resume, and some good photos. At least one head shot and one full length photo. If the agency likes your look and decided to take you on, they will send you to a photographer to have some taken.
3. Have a flexible schedule because you may need to keep your day job for a little while. In the beginning it may be a little slow because you're an unknown, but things will pick up and soon you can quite that waitress job or sales clerk position and be a full time model.
On the day of the interview with the agent:
