Does teenage singer Miley Cyrus break style and ethical rules with her short shorts?

There are going to be those who say that Miley Cyrus is crossing the line by donning such attire. There will also be those who say that Miley shouldn't wear short shorts in public appearances considering her audience is mostly starry-eyed teenagers. Are the short shorts too short for the majority of her audience? There appears to be many questions and few answers to the short shorts situation. Nobody has ever sat down and wrote a column on how short shorts should be for particular ages. At least I haven't read such a column if it exists. Maybe teen magazines talk about a certain amount of inches off the waist-I don't know.
The question has still been a topic of conversation for some who are critical of the 17 year old star of the Hannah Montana Disney show. Millions of dads and moms of teenage daughters are probably pondering why Miley decides to go with such short shorts. A parent has to worry about their own daughter choosing something to wear that is similar to what Miley Cyrus wears. It might be especially true when Miley Cyrus short shorts pictures and photos appear in national news outlets like US Weekly. These shots tend to glamorize her for what she is wearing because she is a fashion and style icon.
It's an ethical dilemma that is at least worth talking about. How short is too short? There have probably been arguments for years about short shorts and what is acceptable. It doesn't appear that Miley is crossing any line with the exception of her own judgment. It's just one of those situations that becomes very talk-able. Parents might get to have an actual conversation over what to wear and what not to wear because of the Miley Cyrus fashion train.
One problem in the battle against short shorts is that teenagers also get to wear bikinis. Bikinis are are much more revealing than a pair of short shorts would ever be. Why would anyone have a problem with short shorts if they are okay with a teenager wearing a bikini? Is it okay in the atmosphere of a beach but not during casual dress in other places? Is it not okay for Miley Cyrus to pose for a bikini picture or photo just because she is under 18 years of age?
Miley Cyrus isn't the only girl to put on a pair of short shorts in the public eye. It's not like Miley Cyrus is posing for nude pictures. It's not like she is even close to nude or revealing anything but her legs. So why should it be such a problem even if she is still a teenager? As a parent I wouldn't have a problem with the short shorts-at least not the ones that Miley Cyrus is shown posing in for photos and pics in magazines like US Weekly. The problem for me would be when my daughter began appearing somewhere in the vicinity of nude. That would certainly be a reason to be upset for parents who see short shorts as controversial.
