How to Keep Your Above Ground Pool Crystal Clear
Just because you have an above ground pool doesn't mean it can't be as crystal clear as your neighbor's in ground pool. By implementing these easy steps you can enjoy your pool for years to come without filling it each season!

1. Make sure items are purchased from your local pool dealer. These individuals
know not only in ground pools, but are able to offer great advice for your above
ground pool as well. Bring a water sample for FREE testing. This will ensure
you've met initial requirements for keeping your pool clean and sanitary.
2. Purchase a pool sanitizer tablet. One tablet can usually sanitize up to 10,000
gallons of water. Tablet usually lasts for 2 weeks. Place into floating pool tablet
holder. Check weekly to see if tablet has disintegrated.
3. Purchase chlorine. Ask how much chlorine is needed weekly for your pool. For
a 4,000 gallon pool, I pour in 1 1/2 gallons a week. Purchase chlorine only at
your local pool dealer. Most chlorine is made on the spot and is highly
concentrated. It is also very reasonably priced.
4. Purchase correct pool filter at local super center. Make sure to buy at least 2
for the season since supplies run out early. By rinsing these weekly, you will
avoid buying more.
5. Once a week, get in your pool and use the nylon net to lift off debris that comes
on the surface. You can use the net to "sweep" the bottom too. This is quick
and easy if you use broom like strokes. Or, you may hook on your pool vacuum
to complete this step. Take off the top of the pool filtration system and replace
with clean filter. Hose off filter that was removed and let air-dry for the next use.
Check sanitizer tablet in floating device. Sit, back, relax, and renew your spirit
for awhile! When through, add designated chlorine in the pool. Let pool filter
